FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your ceramics dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes. All Limestone Studio ceramics are dishwasher and microwave safe. For larger pieces, such as vases and statement vessels, gentle handwashing is recommended to help preserve their finish and extend their life.
Are your ceramics food safe?
Yes. All Limestone Studio pieces intended for food and beverage use are made with food-safe materials and glazes.
How should I care for my ceramics?
Limestone Studio ceramics are made for everyday use and are dishwasher and microwave safe. Gentle handwashing is recommended whenever possible, as it can help preserve the glaze and extend the life of your piece. Avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes, which can place stress on ceramic ware.
How are your ceramics made?
Each Limestone Studio piece is made by hand in the studio, either thrown on the potter's wheel, hand-built, or a combination of both. Pieces are made using white or speckled stoneware clay bodies and finished with custom studio glazes, which are applied by hand before being fired in the kiln.
Are all of your pieces handmade?
Yes. Every Limestone Studio piece is made by hand, from forming and trimming to glazing and finishing. Because of this, subtle variations in shape, size, texture, and glaze are natural characteristics of the process. No two pieces are exactly alike, and these small differences are part of what makes handmade ceramics special.
Will my piece look exactly like the one pictured?
Not necessarily — and that's part of the beauty of handmade work. While every Limestone Studio piece is made with care and attention to consistency, variations in form, glaze, color, and surface are natural results of the handmade and firing processes. Your piece will be uniquely its own.
Do you sell and ship internationally?
Yes. Limestone Studio ships handmade ceramics throughout the United States and internationally. Shipping options and costs are calculated at checkout. International customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees charged by their destination country.
How quickly will my order ship?
In-stock pieces are typically packaged and shipped within 2–3 business days of purchase. Made-to-order pieces and preorders will have an estimated production timeline noted in their product description.
How are ceramic pieces packaged for shipping?
Each piece is carefully packaged to help ensure it arrives safely. Because ceramics are fragile, we take extra care with cushioning and protective materials while keeping packaging as simple and minimal as possible.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
While every order is packed carefully, damage can occasionally occur during transit. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us via email or through the Contact page within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the damaged piece and its packaging. We'll work with you to make it right.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because each piece is handmade, we encourage you to review the product description, dimensions, and photos carefully before purchasing. We do our best to provide accurate descriptions and photos; however, due to their handmade nature, each piece is unique and all characteristics may not be reflected online. For these reasons, we do not currently accept returns or exchanges. However, if your piece is damaged in transit, please reach out via email or the Contact Us page within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the damaged piece and its packaging, and we will work with you to make it right.
If you have questions about a piece before ordering, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Do you accept custom orders?
Limestone Studio occasionally accepts custom projects depending on the scope, quantity, and studio schedule. If you have an idea for a piece or small collection, get in touch, and we'll be happy to discuss what's possible.
Do you offer wholesale?
